I love cornflowers – their beautiful color and their shape. They always associate to me with something innocent and gentle, something from the childhood when all the world seemed a magical undiscovered place waiting to be explored. The cornflower has been used as a symbol of tenderness, of fidelity, and of reliability. In several countries it is also a symbol of the end of war and a symbol of liberty. In ancient Egypt this flower was also a symbol of life and fertility and was accompanying the pharaohs after their death to their rebirth.
This doll is an artistic interpretation, it is unique and will not be repeated.
The doll is 24 cm high with shoes and wig.
The outfit of the doll was made from natural silk which was hand dyed into vivid blue. It is lined with white silk to prevent any possibility of the fabric to stain the doll.
The dress is embroidered with mouline thread.
The wig of the doll is made from ramie fiber which was also dyed to match the color of the dress. It is decorated with glass micro beads.
The doll is wearing a shoulder cover which is imitating the shape of corn flower. All the petals were cut out from the same silk as her dress and heat shaped. The doll has a corn flower tattoo on her leg.
The shoes were casted in resin and altered to match the costume.
